Yay! Someone’s actually reading my post. (Happy dance) I finally made the jump and decided to build a portfolio website. Welcome to my photography journal and this, my first entry. One of the things I knew I wanted when building this was a space where I could easily share my thoughts on random stuff. I’ve been known to be a bit chatty from time to time so having this portion of the site felt very natural. Turns out, filling a blank page with words isn’t as natural. But worry not, for this shall be a fun exercise in growth and discomfort as I have plans to share many tips, tricks and photography advice with you. If you haven’t visited before, be sure to check out our portfolio.
Anyway, I’m Damion Lackna, a photographer living in Guyana, South America. I’m still new to photography and, truth be told, I’m kinda figuring it out as I go. I shoot mainly weddings, portraits and landscapes but I’m eager to explore other photographic styles. For instance, I only recently started working with off-camera flash and was shocked at the difference it made. I love street photography, even though it scares the heck outa me. And I’d really like to explore food, wildlife and astrophotography in the days to come. So lots of growing, and learning (and messing up) are in store. I thought it might be fun to document my journey here and share it with all you fine folks.
So you guys can look forward to that as well as posts on whatever tips and tricks I pick up along the way. Plus, I’ve got some really great photos of various places in Guyana that I’m gonna share. Just know that really cool things are in store!
You can also look forward to seeing posts and updates from fellow photographer and partner in crime, Leiann. She mostly manages the social media accounts and does most of the selection of client photos. If we’ve done a session and you loved your photos, then Leiann’s the person to thank.
Oh, just one quick tip before I end this: the little chat icon at the bottom right of the page is a direct link our various channels – FB, IG, Email, WhatsApp, even text messages and phone calls. So if you ever wanna get in touch, using those tools may be the fastest way. Also, it would really mean a lot if you signed up so that you’ll be notified the next time we post. Plus, if you give us a follow over on the socials, that’d be super too 🙂.
So if you made it this far, you rock. Thanks so much for taking the time read. I’ll see you around Friend.
Damion
