Still cold, still quiet, but getting outside was exactly what I needed. Not much to see yet, but a few red-winged blackbirds and cardinals showed up. Can’t wait for spring migration to really kick in!

And I plan to spend as much time in the outdoors as possible now that the days are starting to get longer 🙂

Saw skiing for the first time in Whistler, and it looked straight-up magical - snow, smiles, and plenty of slips.

Growing up in the tropics, this was never really known my radar, but living somewhere that’s frozen half the year… feels like I need a winter sport just to survive.

Definitely something I need to try soon!

#bc was breathtaking. It was my first time visiting the province and I can say for a fact that it did not disappoint! I was there on a work trip, so I didn’t have as many opportunities to explore as I’d have liked. But I still found some time to get lost, and I loved every second of it.

Hopefully my next trip will be an all fun no work kinda trip. But even if not, I can’t wait to return!

Lately, I feel like I’m either constantly buzzin

Lately, I feel like I’m either constantly buzzing from one thing to the next, barely catching my breath, or so drained that I’ve got no motivation to get moving.

I try to spend as much time in nature as I can, but that’s not as easy as it sounds most days. On the days I do manage to go into the outside, though, it reminds me that life doesn’t have to be this mad race we’re all running. (Though I hate how quickly we forget this bit)

I reallllllly want to try slowing down more - and even that feels so strange to me since this isn’t something I usually struggle with. But watching this bee in his ‘stop and smell the flowers’ moment was a nice little reminder of how much there is to gain by turning down the pace a notch, and being fully present. (Or at least trying to)

Am I alone in this?
Is anyone else trying to find a slower pace these days?
If yes, I’d love to hear how you’ve been getting on.

Fall in full swing 🍂

The changing leaves along Hamilton’s waterfront with angry clouds rolling in, creating the perfect mix of calm and chaos.

Nature’s transition is always breathtaking from above. It’s a reminder that even though change can be difficult, it can also be beautiful. 🌿

Maybe there’s a lesson here for me too - finding peace in what I am and letting go of what no longer serves me.

Ever wonder what it would be like if these guys were huge? Like, bigger than humans huge? They already give off that ‘I’m watching you’ vibe, but if they were any bigger, I’d probably have to reconsider my love for birdwatching. Would I still find them majestic if there was a chance they’d swoop in for a snack? Probably not… but hey, I do love a good thrill!
